DIANA EPP ECW PRESIDENT
Here we are, three months into our ECW year and things have been moving at a steady pace. December will have us busy with our Christmas Craft and Bazaar to be held on December 10 and also after our Sunday services on December 11. We need items to sell and workers to sell them. There will be a sign-up sheet in the parish hall for our work detail. The Men's Club will again be in charge of the kitchen, providing us with tasty treats for lunch. On December 15 we will have our Christmas Luncheon at Spartan Manor, again we will have a sign-up sheet in the parish hall. There will also be an information insert in our church bulletin giving you all the details pertaining to the luncheon. Another December happening is the collection of Toys for Tots. This will be from December 1 thru December 17. There will be a collection box in the narthex as well as the parish hall. All that, plus Christmas makes December a very busy month and with your help it will be a success. Now we go into January… January 18 is Pontifax Day of Prayer. This year it will be hosted by Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Clearwater where Bishop Lynch will be the Homilist. This years theme is “Where Two or More are Gathered in My Name”. We will have more information on this event in the near future. It would be great if we had a large group from St. Stephen's attending. Please mark your calendars now, it is a wonderful day of prayer and inspiration. January 19 is our regular ECW meeting. Our program will be given by AARP-Job Seekers. It is sure to be interesting and it would be nice to see a good turnout. February 12 is our CPC Ingathering. Please donate generously to this worthwhile cause. A speaker from Medic Alert Response Link will present the program for our February 16 meeting. A must program for all to attend. The Clearwater Deanery Salad Luncheon will be held on February 28 at Good Samaritan Church in Clearwater . This is always a fun time for fellowship (no program). This takes care of our activities for the next three months. Remember our card party and salad bar lunch on the second Monday of each month. We have several tables available, so get a group of four together and join us. Call Dot Snow, 938-9579, for reservations. Our Thrift Shop continues to be our best source of income and Florence Holden is always looking for volunteers. Our craft group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. . We would love to have you join us in the parish hall. We could use some new ideas for easy-to-do projects. You do not need to call anyone, just show up. All this sounds like all we do is work but it is doing it with a group that makes it enjoyable and rewarding. Everyone is welcome to join us at ECW, we are working for God and for our Church. See you at our ECW meeting the third Thursday each month following the Healing Service. God bless you all. |
